Furry Youth Café
(above Warrens Bakery, 6 Meneage Street, Helston)
We are open for three evenings a week, running 4 different sessions:
is our Support Hub.
Here, young people can access mental health and emotional wellbeing support and advice, as well as being able to engage in therapeutic and expressive activities.
is our targeted youth sessions.
These sessions deliver information and activities on specific topics beneficial to our young people, for example- healthy relationships, environmental sustainability and LGBTQ+ evenings.
Thursday from 5:30pm-7:30pm
is our Supper Club.
Young people will learn a range of culinary skills and have the opportunity to cook together with guest chefs, culminating in a fine dining visit to a restaurant at the end of the term. They will learn how to cook with everyday basics and also challenge themselves with more creative meals. They will gain a valuable insight into budgeting, meal planning, the etiquette of serving food, nutrition, food hygiene among many other life skills.
is our Open Drop-in sessionThis session enables young people to meet together in a safe warm space and access a range of support and workshops, including information advice and guidance, as well as having chill-out time with their friends and making new friends too!
We have contracted with Young People Cornwall to deliver the professional youth work service for the Supper Club, Support Hub and Drop-In sessions; as well as making links with other local services and professionals who will be delivering exciting and engaging sessions with our young people at Furry Youth Café Helston!
